METHOD FOR REQUESTING PUBLIC INFORMATION AND RECORDS: Requests should be made to the City Clerk's Office in City Hall located at 301 Walnut Street or in the case of requesting police records should be made to the Police Department located at 115 W. Jefferson Street. Depending on the type of information and records being requested, your request may need to be reviewed by City officials or may not be immediately available or provided.
FEE SCHEDULE: First 50 pages, black and white, letter or legal size copies, no cost. Additional pages, black and white, letter or legal size copies $0.15 each. Electronic records will be formatted subject to reimbursement for costs of recording medium. Color copies or copies in a size other than letter or legal shall be reimbursed at actual costs. Cost to certify a record will be $1.00.
PROCESS RESPONSE TIME: A public body must either comply or deny the written information request within five (5) business days after its receipt (the business day after the day received counts as day one (1). If the request is denied it must be denied in writing. In the event a public body cannot fill the request within this 5 day period, it may obtain an additional 5 business days if it can meet one of the seven reasons put forth through the Freedom of Information Act.
